and we are finished with the crib stage!

i have been contemplating and toying with the idea of moving marie to a big girl bed lately. mostly when i walked in and found her like spiderman up against the wall standing on the crib railing and calling "mooooooooommmmaaaaaaaaa!"!!! that girl is FULL of personality and surprises!

so tonight i made the deicision it was time. no more trying it out - we are doing it! so after a rough afternoon nap, she's peacefully asleep tonight in her big girl castle bed in the room with emily jane's castle bed. :)

now i had planned on sleeping the girls in the same room so eben could have his own BOY room. boy toys - boy decorations - boy everything. he seemed so excited about the idea! so i moved his bed in there and his castle with his men...

then he asks "can emily jane sleep in here with me?"

i said "i thought you wanted to have a boy room? and the girls would have a girls room?"

he said WORD FOR WORD "are you kidding me? she is the bestest sister in the whole wide world! this can be a boy and girl room!"

MELTS MY HEART :D

so i took one side of the crib rail off and let emily jane put her princess sheets on there. and they're happily settled in for the night. not quite asleep but almost. :)

we'll see how long it lasts. haha

friday funnies

more 5 year old silly phrases...

instead of "you're cracking me up" eben says... "you're breaking me up!"

eben puts his dirty clothes in the dirty clothes hampster. hehe

friday funnies

emily jane: **sniff** **sniff** mommy! you smell like elephant soap!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

in the morning, before i get marie up i hear...

momma! mooooooooooommmmma!

so i walk in and she says:

marie: bluk! poo poo.

and it was.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

eben sometimes messes up common phrases that he hears. the latest one that makes me giggle is his take on our "i hear you mister!"

he says to us:
"i hear you two mustards!"

grandpa turns fifty-something ;D

for my dad's birthday we went to texas roadhouse...when its your birthday, they roll out this saddle, make the birthday boy sit on it, announce how old they are, then make the whole restaurant say "yee-haw!" kinda funny. :)

eben trying to not look silly - think it worked? BAHAHA
nice pink bag huh? we all chipped in together to get him star trek on blu ray - which was exactly what he wanted. :)

i'm a mother to a rising kindergartner?!

eben turned five a few weeks ago. i'm having a little bit of a nervous breakdown over that! he's going to kindergarten in the fall. MY little baby boy is going to school - real school - not just preschool or MMO. he is a big whopping FIVE years old! where does the time go?

first we celebrated with mimi and grandaddy...

they bought him this huge monstrosity of a castle that he absolutely adores! he was so excited to see this huge box all wrapped up and couldn't wait to tear it open!

then grandma and grandpa let him open part of their present - 2 knights and horses to go in his castle!

secondly we celebrated with friends...

for his 5 year party he wanted to have a star wars party at chuck e cheese. go figure. so we bought minimal star wars decorations, i labored over a princess leia/chewbacca/storm trooper/yoda cake, we sent out invites, and had a marvelous time!

wow! what a cake!

blowing out all the candles!

eben and his mimi

emily jane and leah enjoying yummy cake

allison, jacob, and ethan enjoying some cake

marie got to eat the green yoda cake :D

super hero toys!

toy story slink!

super mario pjs!

eben and his preschool buddy austin having a blast!

marie enjoying the fun toddler rides

emily jane and leah - they were such a hoot! they absolutely LOVED putting the tokens in the games and rides - sometimes they would play the game, sometimes they would wait for the tickets, but mostly they just liked putting the tokens in the slots! and then they'd run out of money and would go ask every adult at the party if they had any money left. TOO FUNNY!

matthew and leah sliding...think he's having fun? ;)

becca - she was such a HUGE help - i absolutely LOVE my sisters! i have the best sisters in the whole wide world!

then finally on his actual birthday with just us.

a super hero guess who game from mommy and daddy!

a light up card and money from great grandpa & great grandma hornby!

a spiderman shirt from aunt rebekah!

a super hero poster from his sisters!

and more kinghts, horses, and a dragon from grandma and grandpa!

goergian blizzard...two years in a row!

our kids just love snow! probably more so because we don't see it everyday or even every winter! but we have had a lot of fun in the 3-4 inches we have gotten this winter. :)

starting the snowball fight. :)

emily jane - about to get hit with a snowball...the flash is reflecting off of it so it looks like a speck but its a snowball.

eben discovering that snow tastes awesome!

beginning our snowman...which didn't turn into a snowman.

building and stacking

our snowchicken!!
yes - a snowchicken. :) last year we had a snowracoon. haha! what can we say - we're a different kind of family.

this year there was enough for us to go "sledding"! well - a southern version of sledding anyway. :)

marie wasn't too big of a fan of the snow - she liked licking the snow from her gloves - until her fingers got wet and cold. she did sled a few times. but not a huge fan. she's just not big enough yet i suppose.

eben however LOVED it - everything about it! he would still be out there now if we would let him. :) we'll have to take him up north one of these winters to let him see a true snowstorm, have a true sledding experience, and build a true snowfort for a true snowball fight. :)

and sledding videos to end it all....HAHA
