so this is my christmas card this year - which i won't be sending out before christmas apparently...i ordered my christmas cards on the 10th thinking that was early enough to get them in time to send them out...well...they're still not here...oh well...merry christmas anyway!!!
marie has been growing like a weed lately - she is not my precious little newborn anymore - she's becoming my precious little girl! (she turned 8 months on nov. 30 so you'd think this wouldn't be a surprise haha) tuesday morning, i went in to get her and she had pulled herself up to her knees in her crib! eben and emily jane were so excited to see their little sister almost standing up. :) she is also almost crawling now...she mostly does a girly army crawl kicking thing - but she will once in a while get up on her hands and knees for a few scoots. :) it is so amazing to me how much children grow and change in that first year. what once was a cute little bundle whose simple stares excited me so much is now a squirmy giggly little girl whose laughs and antics delight me. and of course this does make me want another baby :) too bad rhett thinks we're done. HA
so i put emily jane to bed tonight and a minute later she is crying her little head off! so i go back in there to see what's the matter...and here's what i heard (it might be what she said but i don't know)
"emily jane, why are you crying?"
"because"
"because why?"
"because the kitty kat has ears too mommy...the kitty kat needs kisses on his ears too mommy"
"the kitty kat needs a kiss on his ear?"
"his two ears mommy"
so i kissed her little toy kitty kat's ears, she stopped crying, smiled, and said night night.
i would LOVE to be inside a toddler's head for a day.
i have now decided that for the next 4 years...our family pictures will not be so cute...until our kids are grown up enough to throw on a smile and hold it for longer than 2 seconds...but here ours is this year...merry christmas :)
i didn't get any pictures of our actual thanksgiving...but we did have a wonderful time! i think we had 16 people sitting around the table for our turkey dinner! it was so incredibly fun!!!

so packing and getting ready for a vacation is a pain...here's today's experiences...
i have been up since 7 packing and cleaning...
rhett had to work on his day off...which left me alone with 3 kids to pack everyone...
emily jane pooped in her pants while i was in the shower...
i tried to put the spare tire back in it's holder thing...to no avail...
i forgot about lunch...
rhett walks in the door to me standing in a huge puddle - i had wanted to wash emily jane's poopy panties and apparently the washing machine is broken...
i eventually missed the noise and had to ask where the kids were...they had put themselves to sleep for naptime...without lunch...
now it's 2:00 and we were supposed to leave at 12:30 and we're just sitting down to lunch...
sigh
my conversation with eben tonight before putting him back in bed
"i love you mommy"
"i love you too eben"
"HEY! you have eyebrows!"
and that was it! HA
when talking to rhett, i said "i'm not worried about that one iota"
then eben looks at me with the most surprised expression and says,"you're not worried about yoda?!"
HA rhett and i both lost it - we were laughing so hard
so i decided to just steal and crop the pic of the three of them since emily jane looks so cute in it :)
the yard across the street was raked this weekend :( so i couldn't use it as my backdrop anymore...but i think the front steps worked out ok. :) i'm still working on catching emily jane - she is so hard to take a picture of! she won't stay still long enough for me to snap the picture. she'll cheese then move on to something else. and she gets impatient with me for making her cheese so many times. ah well...i'll keep working on it. i love the picture of the three of them though - and i love the shot of marie. too cute.
here are my daughters and pictures of me pretty close to their age...it's kind of fun seeing myself in them. :) i think emily jane looks more like me than marie - but we'll see as marie gets bigger. what do you think?
eben was in such a great mood (really!) and loved taking the pictures...the girls on the other hand...i'll have to take them back - marie was NOT cooperative...ah well...we'll try again later. :)
today eben and emily jane found this box and were playing together in it so nicely - i had to snap a picture. it is so wonderful to actually see them enjoying each other..yes they do have their typical sibling moments - but they play together now! it's awesome!
so here's our family picture for our church's pictorial directory - boy was it a nightmare trying to get a decent picture. first of all, emily jane wouldn't nap that day...who knows why. then i got stuck in traffic THREE TIMES on the way to church so i was late. and it was marie's supper time. SO...this was the best picture (we took about 15!). emily jane isn't smiling - but she isn't crying or ducking her head either...and marie is just doing her "look" where she puts her chin down and looks at you through her brows. typical marie look. :) eben's smile is too precious, and rhett and i look pretty good. so 3 out of 5 smiles isn't too bad of odds, is it?
i am too tired tonight to try to scrapbook the last few weeks' photos...here they are :) and costume photos will be coming soon
michelle's engagement party
we had such a wonderful evening! michelle has asked me to coordinate her wedding and this was the first wedding event of many to come. i was a little nervous but it really was a wonderful evening! and ms. lynne's apple tarts were AMAZING...i need to get that receipe
Emily Jane at Build-a-Bear...or Build-a-Monkey...whichever
i have had a gift card to build a bear for a long time now and thought it would be fun to take emily jane now that she is into stuffed animals and such. aunt shelle came with us and emily jane had such fun picking out the animal - hated the noise the stuffing machine made - wasn't too keen on brushing the monkey either - but LOVED picking out the monkey's outfit. she kept wanting to buy it shoes - but i kept saying no. meany mommy. the monkey's name is either annie or penny - i can't decide which. :) but she loves that monkey - her favorite thing about the monkey is that we put one of those noisemakers in it that sings a little birthday song - she goes around and dances with that silly monkey and i'll hear her playing it after i put her to bed. it's always so fun to see them enjoying something you paid good money for...
on the way home she said anniemonkey needed a blankie. so she covered up anniemonkey and fell asleep on the way home. cutiepie.
my new laundry service...heh...this speaks for itself...rhett said to be careful of child labor laws...HAHA
on our field trip to the pumpkin patch - we actually didn't see a pumpkin patch! haha we walked through a corn maze, petted some goats and chickens, jumped around a blue cow jump house, played with the corn table (instead of a sand table), and went on a hayride! it was a perfect day - the kids loved it! :)
for eben's preschool class we had to do a poster that was all about eben. so here's the mini version of it - or pretty close to it anyways. i think it turned out pretty cute!
today it rained here...i don't think it's rained in two months...and my kids jumped at the chance to use their boots and umbrellas...these are the first pictures i've gotten of emily jane in her "rain gear" tee hee

and i think we've partied enough for now :)we had emily jane's party today - and it was so much fun! here's some pics-i'll post more later...she absolutely LOVED all her presents...but i do believe the kitchen was the highlight...she literally jumped and clapped her hands when she opened it. it was precious! she was such a joy to watch as she opened her presents... absolutely everything was "wow!" or "cool!" or "i love it!" sometimes i wish she would never grow up. :)

Emily Jane's 2nd Birthday Invitation
every time i've gone to the store with emily jane this week - about every other day - someone has told me that i need to get my daughter into modeling. the lady at carter's even said that if i got head shots done, carter's would hire her! i don't think i'm going to...but here's my beautiful emily jane...we're in for trouble come high school...
i am having WAY too much fun playing with digital scrapbooking...here are pieces of my marie. :)
i have superheroes! my kids are so funny together...and they're FINALLY playing together. i caught them being silly together and actually snapped the shutter button at the right time. :) go me.
my friend redid her blog awhile ago and i loved it so much i decided to redo mine...much more colorful and fun...i can't figure out the header yet...but i have one to put up whenever i figure that out haha :) but enough for tonight - my bed is calling my name.
so marie is a thumb sucker...i haven't had one of those yet. both eben and emily jane were addicted to their pacifiers. i have honestly tried to force the paci on marie, and she just won't take it! and she really does love her thumb - so now i have a thumb sucker. i sure hope that she gives it up without too much fuss in a few years.
eben is so into all the super heroes right now...and LOVES dressing up as them!! he has pajamas of superman, batman, captain america, and the list goes on and on. each night he gets to decide which superhero he wants to be in his dreams...it's so fun! here is is batman, a storm trooper, and his version of robin (from batman). :)
this whole week we've been participating in our church's music/drama camp - and have been having exhausting fun! :)
at yesterday's performance, eben got stage fright and refused to get up on stage - then this morning for church they sang two songs - which eben made it through half of the first which was a good effort i thought! he was the youngest kid i believe in the program. and then this afternoon once again got too scared to get up and sing. he knew the whole song and the motions but oh well...maybe next year - here's a little video from church - sorry about the quality and the seats...i tried to hide so that he didn't see me but you can tell the moment he does - he can't think about anything except that he's not with mommy. silly lovey mommy's boy. he's the short kid in the middle with his blanket - haha - and you thought linus was attatched to his blanket!
