everyone needs a little change now and then

and i need it more often than others...i often change around the furniture in my house just for fun...so now it's time to change around the blog...

so emily jane is still working on potty training...she does pretty good most of the time...so on thursday this was our conversation...

"mommy, pee pee is coming"

"OK!"
we run to the bathroom. i sit her on the toilet.

"you going pee pee?"

"yes mommy. pee pee's coming"

"is poo poo coming?"

"no mommy. poo poo not coming. poo poo's lost"

HAHAHA

which reminded me of a funny potty training eben story. we're sitting in the bathroom cuz he likes company while he goes...and his tummy is a little upset if you catch my drift. he goes #2 then looks in the toilet and says

"oh no mommy!! my poo poo is broken!"

HAHA

this conversation happened yesterday on my way out the door to preschool...

"Eben, did you take your socks off?"

"No, mommy. My hands did."

"You hands are part of you so you took your socks off."

"But mommy, my hands took my socks off - not me!"

"Eben, where are your socks?"

"I don't know, mommy. You'll have to ask them."

aunt bek bek's build a bear

for christmas - we got rhett's sister a build a bear gift card that she could do with eben and emily jane while she was here at our house. they loved going with her and helping her pick out the right bear with the right outfit with the right sound. it was so cute and fun!

marie's 9 month portraits

so this year we are experimenting and trying to do marie's 9 month portraits ourselves...i'll try to find eben's and marie's if i have scanned them and see what you think. eben's we did professionally and it turn out very nice. very formal. emily jane's was done at walmart since she was 9 months while we were at seminary (extrememly low cash flow!). and now i think i've decided they smile the best at home with just us. so i still have time to change my mind if i don't like it. :) haha but here's what we came up with on shoot #1...whatcha think?

and here's my little thumb sucker...in a year and a half i'm going to need some really good tips on how to get her to stop...but for now it is so incredibly adorably cute!!!!!!!

our christmas

so i didn't take my camera out at my parents' or rhett's parents' houses...i'll have to get copies of those pictures later...but here are the ones that i do have of our christmas morning. :)


the week before christmas, my parents came over and built eben and emily jane a castle bed for their room...it is so incredibly awesome...but we were finishing it up way past their bedtime so eben and emily jane crashed on our bed. :) they were completely oblivious and SO excited the next morning. :) we moved them in their sleep so that they woke up in their new beds. they thought that was SO cool. :)

enjoying their christmas presents ...

uncle chris and aunt ashley gave the kids a buble machine for the tub - it is too cool! they love taking baths with it and playing with the massive mountains of bubbles that it blows. thanks guys!!! you did awesome!


they did this all by themselves, eben even helped put emily jane's hat and apron on - now why they're cooking and cutting bricks is beyond me...but they look darling don't they?

preschool christmas program...TOO CUTE

my kids were in their very first christmas program this year and is was SO FUN to see them up there! you can definitely see their personalities shining through...eben the shy little man trying to do everything perfectly...emily jane the social butterfly out to have the most fun possible...and our little marie - oblivious to it all, as long as she has her thumb. :)

after the program, they had a luncheon in the fellowship hall and santa came to visit so my kids got their very first pictures with santa - aren't they cute?

short supply

over christmas break, i was asked to describe the year 2008 in two words and i thought of me being in "short supply" - there isn't enough of me to go around! :) with a husband, 3 kids, a dog, a house, and more to keep up with...i'm in high demand. :) and so the blog has suffered. here are some way out of date posts. :)
